Just as your leg and arm muscles will deteriorate and atrophy without activity, so to will your heart and vasculature. This is why regular exercise is so important to heart health. But getting on a regular exercise program is easier said than done, especially with heart disease. There’s an infinite amount of information out there on how best to exercise, and much of it does not directly pertain to those individuals struggling with heart problems.

At the outset of joining our cardiac rehab program, each individual undergoes and evaluation and fitness test. Our team of exercise physiologists and doctors use the information form this evaluation to design a customized exercise program for each patient. During subsequent visits, our exercise physiologists and physicians will supervise and monitor you as you take part in this program. As you get stronger and healthier, the program is adjusted to keep up with your progress. Throughout the program patients also participate in exercise workshops, where they learn the core components of continuing their exercise regimen after our program. Upon graduation from our cardiac rehab program, patients also receive a personalized exercise routine to take home with them.
